This is a convenient sample-sized sachet of dye, which you can use to test the dye on your skin or hair, before going ahead and using a whole packet.

Suitable for colouring blonde to light brown hair. It is warmer than the Natural Brown shade. The lighter your hair the more towards auburn the colour result will be.

A small, 10g sample of the dye, designed for you to be able to do a strand test and a patch test on the skin or two strand tests on the hair, before using the full-sized dye. Comes with full instructions.

The likely colour outcome on different hair colours

The resulting colour outcome after using this hair colour does vary on different people's hair as it depends on your individual hair structure and chemistry, and the colour of your hair before using it.

On very light coloured grey or white hair it may of an auburn colour.

On dark blonde to light brown hair  it will be less auburn and more of a warm brown.

On medium brown hair the colour will less noticeable as on lighter hair colours (but if you have grey strands it should colour them with a highlight effect).

If your hair is a mixture of light to medium brown and white, then you will get an average effect, with the white hair going more like auburn highlights and your brown hair being a richer brown.

On dark brown hair this colour will probably not show up.

Leaving the paste on for a longer time will make the colour stronger. If you want a deeper colour you may also build up the colour with a second application.

Although we do our best to formulate this hair colourant so that you get a good colour, we cannot guarantee the precise colour outcome because the colour may be different on different people’s hair. For this reason we strongly recommend that the first time you use a hair colour  you do a strand test on a small section of your hair before putting the dye all over your hair,  We also recommend waiting 24 hours after the strand test to see how the colour develops, because the colour oxidises over time and darkens.

Instructions

Full instructions and tips are enclosed in the packet and the following is a brief summary:

The powder is mixed into a paste with warm water and then pasted on to your hair in sections. It is left on for 1.5 to 3 hours before washing off.  The longer you leave it the darker the colour will be. You may apply the paste with an applicator or tinting brush but we recommend using just your gloved fingers to apply the paste.

The true colour takes a few hours to develop
When you first wash out the colour it will often not be the full depth of colour but it will gradually darken to its true colour

If you have used henna and indigo before you will understand that after washing it off your hair it takes time for the colour to oxidise on your hair.  It can be likened to a cut apple - at first it the apple is white and then as it oxidises in the air it goes brown.

Ingredients:

Indigofera tinctoria (indigo) powder*, lawsonia inermis (henna) powder*, cassia auriculata (cassia) powder*,  emblica officinalis (amla) powder*.
* Denotes Certified Organic

Chestnut hair dye
Wednesday, 24 January 2018  |  Sarah

This is fab and exactly what I have needed for about 2/3 years now. I have mid brown hair that's chestnutty at the ends where it's seen more sun. Was pretty happy with my locks but was starting to resent those pesky salt n pepper bits that most of us end up dealing with at some point. I'm 43 and hadn't dyed my hair since my teen years. Wanting to stay natural if possible, I tried tea rinses, coffee, saffron, camomile... I didn't want to change anything except the grey strands. Hey presto! I came across you! My hair now has beautiful golden strands where once was grey. As it's so close to my natural colour, it otherwise looks the same, possibly a teeny shade darker and glossier (no complaints there!) but nobody has noticed or commented. I guess they wouldn't mention that my grey is now golden but you know what I mean, it looks the same only better. Pure probably won't like me saying this but the sample sachet was enough. Left it on for three hours. I guess I don't need much just yet but once I notice the greys peeking out at the roots, I'll be bagging a big box of this glorious stuff. Love it! Thank you Pure
